Driveways that do not sink
“We do the groundwork properly, and that is why our drives do not sink. Most problems you see on other jobs are what is underneath, not what is on top,” says Dan.
Every Stourside driveway starts with a dug-out, compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base sized to the ground and the weight it will carry. Then comes the block paving, resin-bound or tarmac finish you have chosen, with drainage built in so water runs away from your house rather than towards it. Driveways and patios carry a 10-year guarantee.

Questions we get asked on every site visit
Dan comes out to look at the job, usually within a week of your call, and you will have a written, itemised price the same week. No charge, no obligation.
Not until you are booked in. Once you have accepted the price and we have agreed a start date, we take a deposit to order materials. The balance is due on completion, by bank transfer.
Many single-storey rear extensions fall under permitted development, but it depends on your house and what has been done before. We will tell you at the site visit, and we work with local architects when drawings or Building Control approval are needed.
