Who we are
This website belongs to Stourside Build & Ground, based in Sturry, Kent. We decide how the details you send us are used, so under UK data protection law we are responsible for them. Questions about this policy go tohello@stourside.example or 01632 960 418.
What we collect, and why
The only personal details this website collects are the ones you type into the contact form:
- Your name: so we know who we are talking to
- Your email address: so we can reply
- Your phone number (optional): if you would rather we rang you
- Your postcode: to check the job is in an area we cover and plan a visit
- Your message: so we know what the job is
We use these details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to quote for and carry out the work. Our lawful basis is that you have asked us to take these steps before entering into a contract with us. You will never be added to a mailing list, and we never sell or share your details for marketing.
Where your details go
When you press send, your enquiry is emailed straight to us. It is not stored on this website. It then stays in our email inbox. Two kinds of company handle it on our behalf, under their own data protection terms:
- Cloudflare hosts this website, delivers the enquiry email, and runs the spam check on the form (Cloudflare Turnstile). To tell a person from a bot, Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address. It is used for nothing else.
- Our email provider holds the email once it reaches our inbox.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the legal safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not turn into a job, we delete it within 12 months of our last contact with you. If we do work for you, we keep the records we need for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, usually six years.
Cookies and tracking
This website has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It sets no cookies of its own. The spam check described above only runs on the contact page.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. Email hello@stourside.example and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office atico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
